Food Journal (January 7th)

Now that the holidays are over, I've decided to get back to tracking my meals via the Weight Watchers app on my iphone. I'm happy to report that I didn't do too much damage over the holidays, but I did gain about 3 pounds that I'd like to take off. And while I'm at it, I may take off a few more just to have a little more wiggle room in my diet.
To help keep me accountable, as well as to have a record of all the meals that I eat, I've decided to post a few food journals.  Maybe you'll find some inspiration along the way!

Here's how yesterday went...

The boys and I had lots of errands to run yesterday, so I didn't get a proper breakfast. That's a big no-no when you're trying to lose weight because people who skip breakfast usually wind up eating more during the day than breakfast-eaters. I don't plan on making this a habit, but yesterday I simply didn't make the time.
I did, however, make myself a yummy cup of coffee complete with 2 Tbs. of Almond Joy coffee creamer to take on our errand run. It was a 2-point cup o' joe.
The boys and I had lunch at Chick-fil-a. They needed to get some energy out before we resumed our errands. I got an 8-peice chicken nugget with a side salad. I put the chicken nuggets in the salad and smothered it in fat free Honey Mustard dressing for a total of 11 points. I guess I could have gone grilled instead of crispy and saved some points, but there's just something about a crispy chicken in a  salad that makes my heart sing.
Here's my Liam enjoying his time at Chick-fil-a.
After Chick-fil-a we headed to Marshall's where I always find the most delicious snacks. I was happy to find these Oskri Milk Chocolate Fiber Bars. I had one as a mid-afternoon snack for a total of 4 points.

I had another small cup of coffee later in the afternoon to hold me over until dinner was ready. It was 1-pointer.

For dinner I made baked tilapia, Laughing Cow Whipped Potatoes That Aren't, and Ranch Roasted Red Potatoes (instead of using a packet of Ranch Seasoning Mix, I made my own ranch seasoning mix using this recipe). My hubby raved about this dinner, and for only 9 points it was definitely a winner in my book to.

My after dinner snack was a banana for 0 points.

And, of course, my evening cup o' tea didn't cost me anything. I served it with a little sweetener and big dose of God's Holy Word. It was the perfect ending to my delectable day.

I get a total of 29 points per day.
My total for this day was 27.
